Update on Friday the 13th, Feb, 2009….Was I ahead of the curve buying my 1st used car, a Buick, in May? This Boston Globe feature article http://bit.ly/EoSzz says I was! And the “rotary” line in the video is so true.

This Buick caused me to go from being ‘a real driver’ to ‘a grandpa’ in 12 hours. Yesterday I drove my boss across Boston to a Board meeting in Cambridge in our turbo Volvo with a 6-speed manual. At some point while weaving between lanes on Storrow Drive, he commented, “This is a standard! Boy, you are a REAL DRIVER.” Fast forward to this morning as I get into the Buick and my wife notes, “You look like a grandpa getting into that thing.” So..if it’s image you’re looking for, this isn’t the car for you.
